Note: You are not required to update the AssemblyVision.udl file when applying updates. You only need to run the update on each of your computers running Assembly Vision.

NEW – Work order scheduling was added to Assembly Manager. You can assign the order work orders should be performed in for the day. A My WOs button was added to the main work order screen, where the user can view their assigned work orders for the day or any date range.

CHANGE – Users are prompted for the next scheduled PM checklist date for both manually closed checklists and automatically closed checklists. The date is pre filled with the next date based on the checklist frequency defined, but can be overridden.
NEW – On the Manage Users screen in Assembly Manager, each user has a setting for closing work orders. The Closed button on the Work Order and Checklist screen will be enabled for users setup up with this setting. The User report now lists this setting for each user.
CHANGE –The BOM part quantity field was changed from integer to decimal. You can now specify fractional quantities of part items. i.e. 1.5 feet of hose.
NEW – A Checklist Master List report is now available in Assembly Manager. This report lists the equipment name, checklist name, the type (operator or maintenance), the reschedule frequency, its auto close setting, and whether it is currently an active checklist.
NEW – A field was added to the Checklist template screen. The field allows you to configure if the checklist is automatically closed and rescheduled after it has been marked completed.
FIX – The work order type field is now set properly when the associated checklist is closed and rescheduled.
CHANGE – On the Checklist screen, when the user marks a checklist complete, the checklist will now close and reschedule checklists that have been configured to automatically reschedule, This configuration is setup on the Checklist Template screen in Assembly Manager.

NEW – Email notifications are now sent at the time checklists are (automatically) generated.
NEW – Work order email notifications now include the work order type.
NEW – An email is now sent to the safety person when a work order that is marked as a safety related work order has been closed.  Prior to this change, the safety person was only notified when the safety related work order was opened.
NEW – PM Checklist templates can now be deleted.  Note: All related checklists, work orders and recorded time are also deleted.
CHANGE – When you open and view a work order while viewing all open and closed work orders – after you close viewing the work order, you are now returned to the work orders list viewing all open and closed work orders.  Prior to this change, you were returned to a view of only open work orders in the grid.
FIX – The date closed field updates properly when the associated checklist is closed.
FIX – Fixed a problem on the work orders list screen – when attempting to open a work order when the work order grid is empty.  (The work order grid can be empty when filters are added to the grid.)
FIX – The Checklists (grid) screen will now display multiple Checklists that are due on the same day on the same equipment.

CHANGE – The process for completing and closing checklists has been changed.  Checklists are regenerated automatically when they are marked complete.  The work order associated with the checklist is closed automatically.  With this change:

  • - Time can now be entered for both open and closed work orders
  • - the Closed button has been removed from the Checklist list (grid) screen
  • - the Completed button on Checklist detail screen now completes and closes the Checklist and the
  •   associated Work Order the Completed button automatically generates the next checklist – this process
  •   will also create a new work order automatically
  • - the Completed button uses the checklist frequency defined for the checklist when regenerating the next
  •   PM checklist (you can change the scheduled date for a PM checklist in Assembly Manager)
NEW – A default PM / Checklist work order type setting was added to the Settings screen in Assembly Manager.  Use this field to set the work order type that is assigned to work orders that are generated when new PM / Checklists are automatically generated. 
NEW – Information entered into the notes field on the checklist detail screen is now included in the work order description when work orders are automatically created.
CHANGE – An email notification field was widened, allowing for a larger list of people in the notification list.
NEW – Database changes were made for tracking parts usage / part replacement frequency.  This information will allow reports to be generated by part or by equipment item.  Full functionality of this item will be made available in the next upgrade.
NEW – Database changes were made for Purchase Requisition features.  Full Purchase Requisition functionality will be made available in the next upgrade.
CHANGE – Changes were made on how items can be added to the tree list on the left side of the screen.
NEW – After an item is added to the tree list – that item branch is expanded.
NEW – A BOM Quantity field was added to the screen where you assign parts to equipment.  The BOM quantity field is included on reports that display part information for specific equipment.  With the addition of this field, a bill of materials list can be printed as well.

NEW – All users can now view and search the master parts list.  The Parts button in Assembly Viewer is now a button that drops down a menu.  From the drop down menu you can select View master parts list or View parts just for this item.  From the master parts list screen you can view or print the details for a part and also search the database to see a list of equipment where a part is installed.  The master parts list is also available from the Parts screen in Assembly Manager.

NEW – Import functionality is available for: Suppliers, Manufacturers, and Parts.  This data can be imported from Excel or CSV files.  File layouts are included in the Assembly Vision program files folder.

NEW – For version upgrades beyond 3.1, the AssemblyVision.udl file will not be removed when uninstalling the software.  This will make upgrades that require an uninstall and a reinstall easier to manage.

NEW – A report that displays all information for a specific Manufacturer Part is available from two areas of Assembly Manger.  There is now a print button on the Parts screen and on the Master parts list screen (the master parts list is accessible from the Parts screen in Assembly Manager and from the Parts button in Assembly Viewer).

NEW – Bill of Materials report.  This report is available from the Equipment screen in Assembly Manager and from the Print button in Assembly Viewer.

NEW – A Charts menu has been added to Assembly Manager.  After you select a chart from the Charts menu, a Chart Parameters screen will appear that will prompt you for a date range and other parameters that allow you to customize your charts.  There are 6 charts available with version 3.1.  More charts will be added in future upgrades.  There are two tabs on the screen when viewing charts.  The first tab displays a graphical chart and the second tab displays the chart’s data in a table.  Charts can be exported to files as images and the data can be exported to Excel.  In this upgrade you can generate charts for:

  • - Number of work orders closed each month
  • - Number of work orders opened each month
  • - Total hours worked for a specific work order type
  • - Total hours worked for all work order types
  • - Work orders opened vs. closed each month
  • - Number of work orders opened each month for a specific work order type

Assembly Manager - Using the Equipment screen, you can move items in your database to new locations by right clicking on an item in the left side of the screen and then select where you would like to move the item to. This allows you to change the navigation path to your equipment and maintain all of the associated information stored the equipment you are moving.
Assembly Manager - In the Equipment screen, equipment names that contain double quotes are replaced with two single quotes.
Work Order grid screen - text entered in the filter bar is retained when returning from viewing the details of a specific work order.

Checklists - when the user closes a checklist, the checklist’s associated work order is closed at the same time. The work order’s Closed By field will contain the user name of the person who closed the checklist.
Checklists - the Time button has been added to the Checklist grid screen and Checklist detail screen.
Checklists - when the user clicks Completed and there are Checked boxes that were not checked, a message box will display letting the user know.
Checklists - When the user clicks Completed and there are WO Needed boxes checked, a prompt will ask the user if they want a work order created for the items checked. The checklist text is included in the work order description for each WO Needed that is checked.
